Information on the Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

In connection with the sale of electrical equipment, we are required to provide you with the following information. The German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) contains a number of requirements concerning the handling of electrical and electronic equipment.

1. Separate Collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred to as waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Owners of WEEE must ensure that it is collected separately from unsorted municipal waste.

In particular, WEEE must not be disposed of with household waste, but must instead be taken to designated collection and return systems.

2. Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries

Owners of WEEE must, as a general rule, remove used batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed within the appliance before taking the appliance to a collection point.

This does not apply where the WEEE is handed over to a public waste management authority and is separated from other WEEE there for the purpose of preparing it for reuse.

3. Options for Returning WEEE

Owners of WEEE from private households may return such equipment to collection points operated by public waste management authorities or to return points established by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG.

An online directory of collection and return points is available here:

4. Data Protection Notice

Waste electrical and electronic equipment often contains sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and telecommunications technology devices such as computers and smartphones.

In your own interest, please note that each end user is responsible for deleting personal data stored on any equipment being disposed of.

5. Meaning of the “Crossed-Out Wheeled Bin” Symbol

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol commonly shown on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the relevant device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.

6. Manufacturer Registration Number

As a manufacturer within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), we are registered with the competent Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (Benno-Strauß-Str. 1, 90763 Fürth, Germany) under the following registration number:
